The presenter Elianaaged 51, leaves the SBT after 15 years. The information was confirmed by the broadcaster itself this Monday (1). In a statement, SBT stated that Eliana decided it was time for a new phase with other professional challenges.
“SBT, its board of directors and Eliana announce today, in a mutual and friendly way, the presenter’s decision to end her solid and successful professional partnership with the channel in June 2024. After almost 15 years leading a consolidated program and of great success, Eliana decided that it was time for a new phase with other professional challenges, without ever forgetting the countless days of joy, achievements and learning experienced at the broadcaster, so much so that she continues to be Godmother of the Telethon and insists on returning to the broadcaster present the fundraising program for AACD, Both parties legitimately express their mutual gratitude and wish the best for the future. SBT also reinforces its affection and support for the presenter in whatever paths she intends to follow, and informs that the doors will always be open for her”, said SBT in a note.
According to information from UOL journalist Lucas Pasin, the presenter is expected to join TV Globo in June this year, but there is still no confirmed information. Eliana was at the presentation of Criana Esperana in 2023, which indicated a possible trip to the broadcaster. In an interview last year with Programa de Todos os Programas, the presenter called the story “crazy”.
Eliana debuted on SBT in 1991, taking charge of programs aimed at children. During her first stint at the network, which lasted seven years, she consolidated her striking presence on screen. After that, the presenter went to Record, but returned to SBT in 2009, debuting ‘Eliana’, an entertainment program on Sunday afternoons.
The presenter visited several destinations, from the iconic Christ the Redeemer to international locations such as Morocco, Dubai, Cappadocia and Galpagos, always bringing information and culture to her audience. Furthermore, she interviewed some of the most influential personalities in Brazil and the world, including Hebe Camargo, Anitta, Sandy, Xuxa, Angelica, Diogo Nogueira, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift and even Chris Evans, Captain America.
