O Web Summit Rioan event that brings together lectures on topics such as venture capital, new technologies, behavioral trends and stands so that startups with the greatest potential can present themselves, is holding its second edition in Brazil in the capital of Rio until Thursday (18).
In the previous edition, artificial intelligence was a source of great interest among participants, driven by visionary perspectives on its possibilities and multiple applications. However, in this second year, a more realistic approach to what is possible so far is expected.
This theme continues to be the center of attention of the talks for this year, but now with the vision of executives from companies such as IBM, Oracle and Embraer on the use of technology.
The discussions are being based on data that highlights the potential impact of AI on business generation, productivity and efficiency. Generative artificial intelligence has become an even bigger issue, which is crossing several areas, due to its potential market, estimated at 1.3 trillion dollars by 2032, according to Bloomberg Intelligence.
This year’s Web Summit is offering 18 thematic tracks, covering areas such as new consumer trends, content creation, sports business, decentralized finance, social impact, diversity and ethics. More than 30 thousand people are expected to follow these themes during the three-day event.
As for confirmed participants at Web Summit Rio, more than 1,000 startups, 700 investors, 200 partners and 600 speakers stand out. The edition also represents a historic milestone for the Web Summit, with 45% of startups founded by women, the highest number since its creation in 2009. This positions the event as the largest in Latin America in terms of female leadership.
