World Creativity Day mobilizes São Paulo with several free activities throughout the city on the 19th, 20th and 21st of April. Among them, initiatives such as theater and dance workshops, exhibitions, panels, lectures, conversation circles and documentary screenings, which take place in the neighborhoods: Butantã, Campo Limpo, Ipiranga, Pinheiros, Santana, Santo Amaro and Vila Mariana. In 2024, the largest collaborative creativity festival on the planet will take place simultaneously in 55 Brazilian municipalities, and the expectation is for 50 thousand participants across the country. Created in Brazil by Lucas Foster in 2014, the date is part of the official calendar of HIM since April 2017.
The movement is organized by the education and communications company World Creativity Day and offers countless experiences for entrepreneurs, students and people from all fields, with emphasis on the creative economy. The objective is to boost the cities’ creativity and innovation ecosystem based on pillars such as learning, entrepreneurship and collaboration, always within the framework of sustainable development.
“World Creativity Day was born in Brazil in 2014 and completes 10 years of showing the value and importance of human creativity for building a more inclusive, innovative and sustainable future. Brazilian creativity is applauded in several countries, but it has never been recognized and valued in all its diversity like this year, on World Creativity Day. In times of artificial intelligence, we are proud to reaffirm that the largest collaborative creativity festival in the world was born in Brazil and transforms the reality of people and communities in different nations. The tribute to Ziraldo, also from Minas Gerais, on April 21st, through his freer, more playful and transformed figure, Menino Maluquinho, will continue to serve as a reference for parents, educators and leaders to understand the importance of education and creativity in the development of children and young people for the future”, says Lucas Foster, creator of World Creativity Day.
The event is organized by the World Creativity Organization, a media partnership with GloboKallas Media and LinkedIn Brazil, in addition to the institutional support of the City of São Paulo and the Government of the State of São Paulo, in addition to the support of other important entities and people in the community.
“For a world that increasingly needs creativity and innovation, World Creativity Day is a powerful movement that democratizes knowledge to the population, empowers leaders, promotes cooperation, inspires and generates business”, says Luiz Serafim, Executive Director of WCD.
