In the first official trailer for the feature film ‘SILVIO’, Brazil’s greatest presenter recalls his life story and reveals behind-the-scenes events that have never been shown to the public before. Based on real events and using the kidnapping suffered by Silvio Santos as a guiding thread, the film hits theaters on September 5th.
After a 15-year hiatus from acting, Rodrigo Faro returned to the film sets just to play Silvio Santos. The actor received the blessing of Silvio himself, who, in 2018, during a live program, said that he had always dreamed of having a film of his to show his grandchildren. Excited about the project, Faro also revealed that he sees this film as the biggest challenge of his career to date.
Directed by Marcelo Antunez (“O Speaker”, “Polícia Federal: A Lei é Para Todos”) and with a script by Anderson Almeida (“Spectros”, “No Mundo da Luna”) and structural treatment of the script by Newton Cannito (“ 9mm: São Paulo”, “Magal e os Formigas”), the film invites the public to delve into the businessman’s intimacy from one of the most challenging moments of his life: when after receiving his daughter, Patrícia Abravanel, safe and sound After a kidnapping that lasted seven days, he himself becomes a hostage in his home in São Paulo.
“In addition to telling the story of Silvio, presenter and businessman, the film also talks about the relationship between parents and children, it is very beautiful and thought-provoking. It is a moving, strong and sincere film. It’s worth watching on the big screen”, reveals actor Johnnas Oliva, who plays kidnapper Fernando Dutra Pinto.
