In partnership with Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus and Livelo, the initiative aims to contribute to safer roads
Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus and Livelo have come together to create an initiative that will monitor the period dedicated to sleep during drivers’ routes throughout Brazil and convert it into benefits.
The “Trucker Napp — Rest and Win” project, created by AlmapBBDO, will measure drivers’ sleep hours through smart watches connected to a scoring system that rewards these hours with Livelo points that can be exchanged for money in the bank account.
“With the trucker napp we managed to create almost a new safety feature for drivers and consequently everyone who shares the road with them. All of this guaranteeing better health and income for these professionals who are so important for our country’s economy”, said Fernando Duarte, executive creative director at AlmapBBDO.
The initiative aims to contribute to a safer road and was designed based on a survey carried out in 2021 by the Brazilian Association of Traffic Medicine (Abramet), the Brazilian Academy of Neurology and the Regional Council of Medicine, which found that 42% of traffic accidents in the country are related to sleep.
“We thought of this project to benefit and contribute to partners and customers who make a living from this work and, consequently, help promote safer roads for everyone. Counting on the partnership of Livelo and Carsten to start this very important movement has been fundamental. From now on From now on, our efforts will be to have even more companies involved in all aspects of the program”, stated Ricardo Alouche, vice-president of Sales, Marketing and After-Sales at Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus.
In practice, the application begins to count the professional’s sleep periods and phases at the beginning of the journey, such as heavy, light and REM sleep.
Through wearable devices connected to an application that records hours of sleep, Trucker Napp monitors drivers’ sleep duration, quality and frequency and converts this data into Livelo points, which can be used according to each driver’s personal goal. .
The options range from airline tickets, products and money, to the possibility of using them as a form of payment in the physical stores of Drogasil, Droga Raia, Pão de Açúcar, C&A, Sodimac, Extra and in Amazon Brasil e-commerce, among other partners. Another advantage is having the choice to make payments with points via Pix in physical or digital establishments.
“Offering Livelo points as an incentive for Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus customers reinforces our vertical of ‘Points to Incentive’ that grows consistently. For Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus, ease: no stock, no logistics to manage. For drivers, freedom to choose which prize they want to receive – which includes travel, accommodation, experiences, thousands of product options and even cashback”, concluded Marcelino Cruz, executive director of B2B Business Development at Livelo.
The first stage of the project will focus on one client, Carsten Serviços e Transportes, which after an initial three-month assessment, the mechanics will be adjusted so that it can be carried out on a larger scale, thus enabling those registered to embark on the action.
