New partner could invest more than £50 million per season in the team.
Is the marriage over? Apparently yes, because the Liverpool will have a new sporting goods supplier for the 2025/2026 season. The SportBusiness portal announced that the team released the Nikea supplier since 2020, and signed with the brand’s great rival, adidas.
The new partner won a bidding process and signed an agreement with Liverpool valid until the 2029/2030 season. Something similar happened to Nike itself during the 2020/2021 season, when it won the legal case against Nike. New Balance.
Although the official values have not been disclosed, SportBusiness stated that the contract with adidas should exceed £50 million (around R$275 million), a value below the £90 million that the brand itself invests in Manchester United’s uniforms, but above the approximate £30 million that Nike invested per season.
