The organizers of Paris Olympic Games revealed that they will use Artificial Intelligence at the event. Among one of the many applications, the technology will be used to improve the safety of athletes and the public.
French authorities will also use AI surveillance cameras to monitor game locations, looking to identify potential problems, such as abandoned objects and increased crowds, which will be alerted by the technology.
The images captured will be analyzed using algorithms that precisely detect cases that could generate increased risks. Despite the controversy surrounding the use of the technology, the mechanism will be tested at events over the next few days.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) declared that generating Olympic images will take the use of AI resources to a new level.
Another use of artificial intelligence will be in broadcasting games.
In partnership with the official timekeeper of the Olympics, Omega, Olympic Broadcasting Services will provide in-depth data about athletes, generated by AI, to help understand athletes’ performance. Intel will also be responsible for the image generation process.
