A AFTER SHOW will be included in the calendar of Strategic Events in the city of São Paulo, joining the list of events such as Carnival, Lollapallooza and Virada Cultural. The announcement was made last Wednesday (24) by Mayor Ricardo Nunes, the president of SPTuris, Gustavo Pires, and councilor Rodrigo Goulart.
The city’s calendar already had major events, such as Street Carnival, Lollapalooza Brasil, Virada Cultural, LGBT Parade and São Paulo Formula 1 Grand Prix, for example.
Since 1984, the fair has brought together the supermarket chain from Brazil and abroad, generating connections and serving as a major source of business. Last year, the volume of transactions during the event reached the mark of R$14 billion among almost 140 thousand visits to the event. It is also estimated that, due to APAS SHOW, another R$22 million was involved in business in the remainder of last year.
“For 52 years, APAS has looked after food retail and all links in the supply chain. Having our main event included in the official calendar of the city of São Paulo is an immense recognition of all the work we have done”, says Carlos Corrêa, general director of the association.
APAS SHOW collects 38 tons of food and products
Started on January 2, 2024 this year, the fundraising campaign for the 38th edition of APAS SHOW has already achieved significant results so far. With just a few days to go until the biggest event in the food and beverage sector in the Americas and the biggest supermarket fair in the world, organized by São Paulo Supermarket Association (APAS), the action has already reached the mark of 38 tons of food and hygiene and cleaning products.
This initiative, now in its 13th edition, has as main purpose to benefit civil society organizations that work with people in situations of social vulnerability, and stands out for its anticipation in relation to the event, which will take place from May 13th to 16th, 2024.
Several supportive companies, including Alliz Zanchetta, Biofun, Costa Lavos, Inoar, JCA, Masquespan, Milli, Zinho, among others, joined forces for this noble cause, donating the aforementioned products that were sent to institutions such as Amigos do Bem, Associação Prato Cheio and SESC SP’s Mesa Brasil Program. Under the coordination of the director of Social Responsibility at APAS, Maria do Rosário Brandão, this campaign seeks to raise awareness in the supermarket sector and the industry about issues of social vulnerability, reinforcing the importance of corporate social responsibility.
