Anyone who has a pet has no doubt that they are part of the family, and Citroën know this. The brand then decided to go further and entered into a partnership with the NGO Ampara Animal so that the brand’s dealerships can be an extension of the cause.
Furthermore, the stores will be prepared to welcome pets, with all the comfort and safety they need. Citroën and Ampara together developed a manual and training that includes information signs, a welcome kit, hygiene items for dogs and cats and adoption awareness booklets.
The partnership also includes the use of the Citroën Jumpy, so that it can be used both in adoption events and in food collection projects and other actions coordinated by Ampara. To give the action even more personality, the vehicle was affectionately named “Jumpet”, a combination of its name and the English word that means pet.
Ampara Animal began its activities in 2010 with actions focused on education, population control and adoption of dogs and cats. Among the NGO’s purposes are combating the most varied forms of violence against wildlife, working on animal rights and developing more efficient public policies.
Thanks to an exclusive partnership, Ampara will make a list of partner NGOs available for dealers to line up local adoption fairs and promote events at their units. Actions between Citroën and Ampara can be followed on social media.
A Citroën and the pet universe
As is customary to do before each launch or project, Citroën analyzed the current scenario of its consumers and found that Brazil already has more dogs and cats than children in its homes. According to a survey carried out in 2023 by the Brazilian Association of the Pet Products Industry (Abinpet), Brazil is third in the global ranking of revenue in the pet segment, with a share of 4.95%, behind only the States United States and China.
Citroën takes the comfort and safety of dogs and cats into account when developing its products. In addition to, for example, the New Aircross being the only SUV in the segment capable of carrying up to seven people and having the largest trunk among its direct rivals, with 493 liters, it has a wide range of original Mopar accessories, including a protective cover seat and seat belt specially designed for the safe transport of animals.
The accessories are applicable to the entire line of Citroën passenger vehicles. In other words, the pet will be comfortable and safe, whether in the New C3, the New C4 Cactus and the New Aircross SUV.
