The new headquarters will be in the Berrini One Building, in the Itaim Bibi neighborhood, located in the capital of São Paulo.
On the exact day it celebrates 35 years, the CNBC announces the broadcaster’s new headquarters in Brazil. CNBC Times Brasil will operate in the well-known Berrini One Building, one of the most modern commercial complexes in the country located in the Itaim Bibi neighborhood, in the city of São Paulo. The region is considered the country’s new financial center.
The Berrini One headquarters will house the studios, newsroom, technical and operational areas in addition to the management structure of CNBC in Brazil, such as the Presidency and the Commercial Department. The studios have a privileged view of the city of São Paulo, which will serve as a backdrop for the broadcaster’s news and programs.
One of the main possible views at the CNBC studios will be the new Usina São Paulo, formerly Usina de Traição, on the banks of the Pinheiros River, which will become one of the newest tourist attractions in São Paulo. The plant is undergoing the revitalization of its facade and will have cafes, cinemas, restaurants and a viewpoint within the “Novo Rio Pinheiros” project.
With 30 floors, Berrini One is classified as a triple A building as it is a reference in terms of technical specifications, with sustainability certification such as Green Building and LEED Gold. It has more than a thousand parking spaces and smart social elevators. CNBC in Brazil will operate in an exclusive space of more than 2 thousand square meters and will use the building’s auditoriums, helipad, meeting rooms and sky lounge (rooftop).
The announcement of the company’s headquarters comes exactly on the 35th anniversary of the largest business journalism channel in the world. In total, 550 million people watch CNBC across all platforms every month. The broadcaster, which belongs to NBCUniversal, one of the largest media groups in the world, is present in more than 80 countries and has newsrooms in 25 capitals in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
For the chairman and founder of CNBC Times Brasil, Douglas Tavolaro, choosing the headquarters in the country’s largest financial center was a strategic option.
“The company will have all the necessary infrastructure to produce quality information. The most important thing is our commitment to independence in the production of a model of journalism that does not yet exist in Brazil”, said Tavolaro.
For KC Sulivan, president of CNBC, the partnership in Brazil has generated great expectations in the group in the United States.
“As a global leader in business journalism, it is CNBC’s mission to inform, provide insights and provide a global economic perspective with local relevance through partners like we have in Brazil,” shared the president.
