A decathlon, a leading global multi-specialist sports brand, has just launched an innovative action to transform dogs with disabilities and mobility problems into athletes. In partnership with the agency Publicis Brazil, the company created the pethletessports prosthetics made from pet bottles taken from parks, to restore mobility to dogs that have lost the movement of their hind legs.
The initiative aims to promote the well-being of pets, allowing them to fully enjoy life when playing sports together with their owners. The launch of the action took place at Parque Villa-Lobos, in São Paulo (SP), with the participation of NGOs such as Cãodeirante and invitations aimed at the community of dog owners with disabilities.
The park received a Pet-station, where participants could deposit plastic bottles that were recycled into filament and 3D printed as prosthetics. Each dog that regained the ability to run also represented the return of motivation for their owners. Soon, the prosthetics will be available on Decathlon’s e-commerce, making it possible for everyone to pet become a Pethlete. The action reinforces the company’s commitment to making sport accessible to everyone, including our best four-legged friends.
Did a speck fall there too? Because here, it fell!
