O London International Awards (LIA) presents the list of mentors for Creative LIAisons 2024. Educational program created in 2012, its mission is to give back to the industry by helping, 100% free of charge to participants, to develop, educate, inspire and nurture emerging talents of Worldwide.
Starting in May and lasting until November, the process will feature some of the industry’s top leaders and references globally offering mentoring and support to around 200 new talents, virtually. Each of the participants will have three personalized coaching sessions with three different mentors and, at the end, they will also have a complete content program in person in Las Vegas (USA), during the LIA judging period.
“Challenging, excited and confident. Our mentors are all this and much more for their mentees. To the 200 mentees who join this program, we ask that you make the most of your sessions. It is a rare opportunity to be mentored by not just one, but three big names in the industry. Get yourself (and your mentors) out of your comfort zone. Have this as your goal, do your best and, over time, you will be able to pass on the lessons you learned to the next generations”, highlights Laurissa Levy, director of Creative LIAisons and director of events at LIA.

“Feeding curiosity and promoting an attitude of constant learning are crucial in our industry. LIA’s Creative LIAisons Coaching is an opportunity to nurture both mentees and mentors. I can’t wait to start”, commented Dani Ribeiro, from WMcCann.
Mentoring sessions seek to cover all disciplines with an emphasis on developing skills, elevating ideas and increasing participants’ creative confidence to accelerate their careers. Creativity is fluid, so there are no set rules or a prescribed formula for sessions. Each mentee and their mentors have complete freedom to define how they wish to conduct their session. The goal is, in the end, to improve the skills of young creatives so that they can reach their full potential and reach greater heights.
“It is a true privilege to serve as a Creative LIAisons coach for the second year in a row, following an incredible experience in 2023. Taking on the responsibility of advising and guiding the new generation of creatives is something I embrace with great pleasure. I believe that the creative industry is constantly evolving and there is always something to improve, learn and teach. Being part of a program that selects leaders from the global creative industry shows the strength of Brazilian advertising and it is with great pride that I represent Africa Creative once again, and this time with another person from the agency, our co-CCO Joanna Monteiro, also at list of mentors”, highlighted Sergio Gordilho.
How are mentors and mentees combined?
Although young talents can submit their wish list from the list of 200 mentors, there are some pre-established criteria. The general rule is: no participant will be mentored/trained by someone from their own company, whether locally or globally. This ensures greater length, breadth and depth in sessions.
Creative LIAisons strives to make matches based on interests, goals and your areas within the industry. We start by ensuring that they have at least one among their coaches who is in their area of expertise. The other two can be from different backgrounds, regions and disciplines, to broaden the mentees’ perspectives. Each coach has a different mentoring style, based on their strengths and experience. Therefore, by being assigned three distinct coaches, participants have access to valuable information that ultimately benefits their career goals and growth.
Selection process
To be eligible for the program, mentees must be currently working in the industry or a related business and be between 21 and 30 years of age.
The LIA does not directly select participants, leaving companies and agency networks supporting the program to present candidates. Furthermore, the program collaborates with different clubs and advertising associations, generously allocating spaces to the winners of creative competitions organized by them.
The winners of these regional competitions, selected by local creative leaders based on their creativity, will then become part of the virtual program group. To further expand the network, the Creative LIAisons virtual program also accepts a certain quota of self-nominations.
