Americanas informed, this Wednesday (23), that e-commerce – offline since the dawn of last Sunday (20), as well as Submarino and Shoptime – is being gradually reestablished. Submarino and Shoptime, however, remain offline. In addition, the brand guaranteed to have no ‘evidence of compromise of the databases’.
At first, the suspicion would be a cyber attack. Due to the problems, e-commerces add up to a millionaire loss, and the shares of Americanas SA, for example, had a considerable drop on the São Paulo Stock Exchange, even though the purchase recommendations were maintained during the day.
“Americanas informs that it has been gradually and safely restoring its e-commerce environments since Wednesday (2/23), suspended due to a security incident in which it was a victim between February 19 and 20. There is no evidence of compromise of the databases. The teams remain mobilized, with all the security protocols, and will act for the full recovery in the shortest possible time. The Company reinforces that the security of information is its priority and that it will continue to maintain the market, updated customers and partners”.
