This week, the Publicis Groupe announced the return of Paula Ganem to the agency, now, as Chief Communication Officer. Former VML, the executive will lead the external and internal communication strategy of all agencies and companies in the group and will report to the Chief Operating Officer in the country, Déa Fernandes.
According to the company, the move is part of the transformation process of Publicis Groupe in Brazil to always remain as the main strategic partner for clients, which involves the creation of a Growth & Operations area, led by Déa and which supports the growth of agencies.
Still at Publicis Groupe, Leonardo Araujo left the company last Monday (6) after three years. A journalist by training, the professional was responsible for the agency’s corporate image and the company’s communication strategy, whether external with PR, digital and marketing efforts, or internal with initiatives such as newsletters and announcements.
Already the Grupo Heineken announced Christelle Rudyk as vice president of finance and purchasing at Heineken Brasil. The executive joined the company in 2022 as finance leader in France. With the arrival of the executive, the company’s staff now has 44% female leadership, made up of vice-presidents from all areas.
Christelle previously worked at the L’Oréal Group, where she was director of global financial transformation for 4 years, in addition to having more than 20 years of experience in finance, holding the role in Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Europe.
Retail Media: new partner
Out of home company, Retail Media announced the arrival of Mario Leão as new partner and leader of the commercial area. This will be the executive’s second stint at the OOH company — in 2020, Leão took over the commercial department, a position he held until 2022.
Mário Leão was commercial manager at TV Band between 2009 and 2013, then spent a year at DMS and then in national commercial management at Ativa. In April 2017, he was invited to structure the commercial department at b.drops, where he stayed for three years.
The CSO position is new in the Retail Media structure, and its establishment is a way of highlighting the “C-Level” role that Mário Leão will have in the company. In 2024, Retail Media predicts an 80% growth in its revenue, consolidating the high potential of its current assets.
Mediabrands
Ana Cester joins the team at Mediabrands as head of operations and digital products, and managing director of Kinesso, the agency’s specialized business unit.
With a degree in advertising from USP and a postgraduate degree from FGV, Ana has always worked with media, planning and data. She spent most of her career in advertising agencies such as AlmapBBDO, Isobar and Digitas with clients such as Volkswagen, Fiat, Visa, Pepsico, Gol Linhas Aéreas, O Boticário, Samsung among others.
Reckitt
Reckitt Hygiene Comercial, a division of the Reckitt Group, presented Ana Beatriz Guerra to the position of head of marketing at Veja. At the company, the executive began her career as senior brand manager for pesticides in 2020 and the following year she assumed the role of head of marketing for the category.
She has a career spanning over 20 years, has a degree in advertising from ESPM and has previously worked at Baruel and P&G, where she worked for 8 years, and worked in regional positions, such as the launch of the Downy fabric softener brand in Brazil and in local positions for the Oral-B and Gillette brands, leading innovation projects, communication campaigns and execution for both brands.
Record has new director
A Record has a new director of multiplatform digital products and services — André Sobral. The executive, who arrives to create solutions for consumers and the market, has already worked with brands such as Pão de Açúcar, Casas Bahia and Cacau Show. Recently, he served as Kwai’s head of marketing and media.
