To launch its new product, “Chicken Cubes”, the KFC Brazilpart of the IMC Group, features the iconic MC Daniel, popularly known as ‘Falcão do Funk’, as the face of its new campaign.
“I’ve been passionate about fried chicken since I was little, so partnering with a world-renowned brand with such credibility, like KFC, is a dream come true and the perfect match! I’m super happy because I know we’re going to deliver something really unique, striking and special to the public”, says the artist and businessman.
Daniel Amorim Nicola is 25 years old and was born in Taboão da Serra (SP). The MC, who emerged in 2022 and became one of the funk sensations far beyond São Paulo, is famous for hits like ‘Revoada’ and ‘Tubarão Te Amo’, which also went viral on TikTok. With a unique, happy, fun and always good-humoured personality, he won the affection of a legion of fans. Currently, he has more than 20 million followers on social media, has made many appearances on TV shows, and also acted as a businessman to support and emerge Trap and Funk artists.
“KFC is a creative and innovative brand, very much in line with MC Daniel’s irreverence and charisma. And the fact that chicken is one of his favorite foods makes this connection even more authentic. The digital campaign is a maximization of the launch of Cubinhos de Frango, which came to provide a new consumption occasion among the younger public”, highlights Willy Campos, Marketing Director at KFC in the IMC Group.
KFC changes MC Daniel name
Keeping an eye on GenZ trends, the chain has just launched a digital campaign with singer MC Daniel, in a fun and provocative vein, linked to the launch “Cubinhos de Frango”, made from 100% chicken breast and breaded with the Secret Recipe by Colonel Sanders.
This is the first advertising campaign with a global fast food brand in which MC Daniel stars.
The film ‘KFC-Daniel’ highlights in a humorous and intense way the MC’s passion for fried chicken, especially the new “Cubinhos”. After receiving the releases via delivery, MC Daniel tastes the product and immediately falls in love with the flavor and crunchiness, entering a trance that takes him to ecstasy. On this journey, he has insights and changes his name from ‘MC Daniel’ to ‘KFC Daniel’, a brilliant and creative move by the brand to provoke a competitor.
“Our mantra is to make a brand think and act like a creator, even in a one-off action. To support the launch of KFC’s Chicken Cubes, we created an action with MC Daniel that carries all the elements of the social’s native language. We created a provocation that has the humor and irreverence present on the networks. Speaking the audience’s language is the essential condition for being understood and adopted”, explains Nelson Botega, Co-CEO & Partner of Snack Content, the agency that created the concept and creation of the digital campaign.
