The newest release of Johnnie Walker Blue Label, Elusive Umami, reaches the main supermarkets and emporiums in the country. Launched in February this year, the drink’s main purpose is to achieve the enigmatic flavor of Umami, a Japanese word used to identify the fifth flavor present in the human palate.
The limited edition is a pioneering expression created in an unprecedented collaboration by master blender Emma Walker, one of the most renowned whiskey experts in the world, and award-winning Japanese chef Kei Kobayashi, who has three Michelin stars at his restaurant in France. The result brings the dream perfect blending by capturing the balance of sweet and savory flavors, with notes of orange and red fruits, woody spices, a smoky touch with salt and pepper and a long, sweetly fruity finish.
Elusive Umami enters the global market offering yet another premium experience promoted by Diageo, the world leader in the high-end beverage segment. With the aim of achieving the enigmatic flavor of the fifth palate and uniting it with the number one whiskey in the world, the duo added years of experience to a meticulous selection of barrels, only one in 25 thousand can bring to life the indescribable essence present in the final liquid. .
