Selected by the organization of the International Festival of Creativity Cannes Lionso OccupyTrans announces the first nine supporters to take six participants to the event, which will be held in June, in France. The agencies DM9, Media.Monks, GUT and Publicis Brasil, and the production companies Tropical Filmes, Corazon Filmes, Don’t Touch My Soda, Ginga Pictures and Nuv&m Filmes have already embraced the initiative, acquiring quotas for the project related to the festival.
OcupaTrans promotes accessibility and participation of transgender people in events and multiple spaces in the Brazilian advertising industry. Chosen from more than 300 entries from 52 countries by the event’s ERA (Equity, Representativeness and Accessibility) Program, OcupaTrans received six passes to the festival. At the moment, there are still five options for sponsorship quotas being made available to companies in the market willing to support this initiative.
“I am very happy with the nine supporters so far. For me, a greater number of companies donating is more valuable than one or two injecting large amounts. This is a point that people need to understand when they support and/or donate to projects: the action is much more valuable than the amount donated, however small or large the amount may be”, says Guilhermina de Paula, founder of the OcupaTrans Project, when stating that some sponsorship quotas for the initiative aimed at Cannes Lions still need to be sold.
With just eight months of operation, OcupaTrans has already enabled the entry of dozens of its participants, trans, transvestite and non-binary people, into the Festival do Clube de Criação and the Festival Whext, both held in São Paulo. Now, with the international event, the goal becomes even more ambitious.
Since its launch, OcupaTrans has received support and logistical-operational support from the sound production company Pingado Áudio, which has Luciana Novelli as a partner.
