AlmapBBDO and DM9 lead the nominations, with eight each, with the Leica case being the best classified
Brazil featured 38 finalists on the first day of the D&AD Awards 2024 shortlist. AlmapBBDO and DM9 lead the nominations, each with eight positions on the shortlist. The best-ranked Brazilian case to date is ‘One Exhibition’, by DM9, for Leica, with six chances of winning Lápis.
This year, there were a total of 12,387 entries made up of more than 30,000 individual works, the highest number of entries since 2007.
The categories announced this Monday (20) were Art Direction; Commerce; Digital & Social; Digital Design; Direct; Entertainment; Experiential; Graphic Design; Average; Music Videos; Photography; PR and Product Design.
Entries came from 78 countries, the highest number recorded in a decade. 6% of entries from the Middle East and India, 21% from Europe (excluding UK and Ireland), 31% from the US and Canada, 3% from Southeast Asia, 18% from the UK and Ireland, 5% from Oceania, 5 % from Latin America, 4% from China, 5% from Japan and Singapore, 2% from Africa.
The awards ceremony to reveal the coveted Pencils will be held on Wednesday (22), at Soutback Centre, in central London.
