The agreement provides for the use of Meta platforms by Team Brasil, in addition to the launch of a chatbot and educational actions
Meta and the Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB) announced a partnership so that Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Threads are the official platforms of Team Brasil. The agreement aims to expand COB’s connection with sports fans and strengthen the relationship between the public and athletes in the long term.
“We have a long-standing relationship with COB, but we are taking the partnership to another level now. We will have a series of actions involving the entire COB ecosystem, from athletes, partners, sponsors and creators, with the aim of bringing people even closer together more of sport through our applications. With a focus on creativity and connection, we will take advantage of the best attributes of each of Meta’s services in the best way to create experiences that are remarkable”, says Conrado Leister, vice president and general director of Target in Brazil.
The agreement between Meta and COB, scheduled until December 2028, will feature the creation of a chatbot on WhatsApp, in partnership with Smarters, which will serve as a second screen for fans with updates, schedules and interaction with Team Brasil.
“We are very happy to reinforce this connection with Meta at this very important moment in the Olympic cycle. The Paris 2024 Games are approaching and we have a major communication operation planned. In addition to the medals on the field of play, we want Brazil to also achieve records in the digital environment. Therefore, the partnership with Meta is strategically fundamental for us to value Olympic sports, enabling the creation of a more intimate and lasting connection between the public and the athletes”, explains Rogério Sampaio, general director of COB and Olympic champion in Barcelona 92. .
The partnership will also feature education, activation and engagement actions for athletes, COB partner content creators and committee sponsors, such as workshops on best practices for using platforms, Team Brasil’s augmented reality filters, as well as spaces for exclusive actions of relationships and engagement at Casa Brasil, in Paris, and at FanFest, in São Paulo.
Meta will also reinforce the “It’s in your hand” campaign, launched in 2023, with a new phase in which videos will give visibility to the journeys of Brazilian athletes towards Paris, showing challenges and achievements in different sports and the role of sports apps. Target the trajectories.
