A Warner Bros. Games announced that MultiVersusthe free fighting game, has been officially released for the PlayStation 5 (PS5), PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) consoles, with full cross-play and cross-play support. progression.
Developed by Player First Games with production and management support from Warner Bros. Games San Diego, MultiVersus features an ever-growing roster of iconic characters based on Warner Bros. franchises. Discovery. The game’s first season, ‘Puns and Villainy’, brings new playable fighters into the mix, including DC supervillain Joker, Jason Voorhees from the ‘Friday the 13th’ horror film franchise and Banana Guard from ‘Hora of Adventure’, as well as Agent Smith, from the ‘Matrix’ film series, who will join the cast later in the season.
MultiVersus launches with the addition of a new PvE (Player vs. Environment) mode called Rifts, with unexpected twists that offer a different way to play outside of competitive PvP (Player vs. Player) matches. The game’s fun-filled fights continue against the backdrop of several reinvented environments, including new maps inspired by the animated series ‘Dexter’s Laboratory’ and ‘The Powerpuff Girls’, which are now available.

Joker (DC), Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th), Banana Guard (Adventure Time) and Agent Smith (Matrix) join the current roster, which contains Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn and Black Adam; Shaggy and Velma (Scooby-Doo); Bugs Bunny, the Tasmanian Devil aka TAZ, and Marvin the Martian (Looney Tunes); Arya Stark (Game of Thrones); Tom and Jerry (Tom and Jerry); Finn the Human and Jake the Dog (Adventure Time); Steven Universe and Garnet (Steven Universe); Iron Giant (The Iron Giant), LeBron James (Space Jam: A New Legacy); Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith (Rick and Morty); Gizmo and Stripe (Gremlins); and an extraordinary original creature called the Dog, with more fighters to be added as part of future seasonal updates.
MultiVersus can be enjoyed in a variety of ways and comes with a variety of modes available, both online and locally. Rifts features a PvE experience with boss fights, minigames and exclusive rewards, while also serving as a way for players to learn mechanics, test characters and improve skills, whether playing alone or in online co-op with a friend.
The game can also be enjoyed in 2-on-2 team-based co-op, 1-on-1 matches, 4-player free-for-all matches, co-op against AI, custom online lobbies, The Lab (training mode), tutorials and local matches with support for up to four competitors.
The dynamically changing map of Dexter’s Laboratory and the map of the city of Townsville, which incorporates the main Powerpuff Girls villain Mad Monkey, are accompanied by the Batcave (DC), Tree House (Adventure Time), Haunted Mansion of Scooby (Scooby-Doo), Sky Arena (Steven Universe) and other locations available to players.
Each fighter is equipped with a varied set of combat mechanics, along with enhanced graphics and lighting that place a strong emphasis on the characters, bringing players closer to the on-screen action. The game also uses custom rollback netcode to support online play and matchmaking.
Additionally, MultiVersus features top voice acting talent, including Mark Hamill (Batman: Arkham video game series, Batman: The Animated Series) as the Joker, Kevin Conroy (Batman: Arkham series, Batman: The Animated Series) as Batman, Tara Strong (Batman: Arkham series) as Harley Quinn, George Newbern (Injustice 2) as Superman, Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) as Arya Stark, Matthew Lillard (Scooby-Doo film series) as Shaggy, Estelle (Steven Universe) like Garnet and many others.
