A ListenBrazilian chocolate brand bean-to-bar, is taking a big step towards sustainability with the launch of the first truffle on the market with zero plastic packaging. This innovation is part of the company’s commitment to eliminate the use of plastic in all its products by 2030, a goal that aims to significantly reduce environmental impact and waste generation.
Developing this sustainable packaging was not an easy task. It took two years of intense studies, including the analysis of 19 reels of different types of paper, varnish and aluminum strips. The result is a truffle packaged in 40g/m² white monolucent kraft paper, with an aluminum strip inside, meeting Anvisa standards.
“Our biggest challenge was to create packaging that would not tear during the packaging process, as paper is more fragile. Currently, more than 90% of our packaging is already plastic-free. Our goal is that, before 2030, this number will be zero. It is important to remember that Dengo, in addition to being a chocolate brand bean-to-barit is also a social impact business”, comments Estevan Sartoreli, co-founder and Co-CEO of Dengo.
In addition to sustainable packaging, Dengo’s truffles follow the brand’s quality standards, being healthier and made with natural ingredients. Using cream from the fruit itself, coffee beans and fat exclusively from cocoa and milk, Dengo offers nine delicious flavors: Brazilian dulce de leche, Bahia orange, Tahitian lemon, passion fruit, intense and milky ganache, coffee , coconut and peanuts, and zero added sugars.
