Partnership between the Heineken Institute, Cufa, The Town and Favela Filmes trained 60 young people for the audiovisual market
The Cri.Ativos da Favela project, created by the Heineken Institute in partnership with Central Única das Favelas (Cufa), The Town and Favela Filmes, will launch the mini-documentary developed by the program’s first graduating class, which included 60 young people, aged between 18 and 29 years old, who conceived, scripted and produced the material.
The mini-documentary records the reality of street vendors, recyclable material collectors and young people, and features testimonies from people impacted by programs supported by the Institute, who tell a little more about each person’s journey and challenges.
The idea is that the material integrates the portfolio of these young people to be more prepared for this job market, in addition to recording the positive impact of the project, which began during The Town 2023. “The audiovisual market is increasingly promising, in addition of being a topic that generates a lot of interest among young people. Therefore, developing this initiative with partners that are so important to these communities and expanding the opportunities for work, income and independence for these people has been our biggest focus”, says Vânia Guil, executive manager. from the Heineken Institute.
The Heineken Institute invested R$1 million in the purchase of technical equipment, hiring of teachers and the structure of the course location, which was held at Cufa, in Parque Santo Antônio, in São Paulo. The rooms were equipped with equipment and instruments and can be used by students for freelance work that they obtain.
In addition to theory, the students participated in a practical experience in the production of the Motoboy SP series, on Rede Globo, and produced a short film for Graffiti Day.

The young people who took part in the project had access to a paid internship through Cufa, Favela Filmes and Instituto Heineken, in addition to receiving hiring recommendations from partner companies and a portfolio book.
