With the support of 200 influencers and 150 companies, comedian Badin, the Colonist, leads historic fundraising with R$74 million.
The Civil Defense of Rio Grande do Sul (RS) updated, on May 21, the numbers of the greatest climate tragedy in the state’s history. According to the new bulletin from the Gaucho authorities, the total number of people affected is 2,339,508. There are 806 injured, 85 missing and 161 confirmed deaths.
Amid initiatives to support the state’s population, fundraising initiated by influencers gained prominence. As shown by a survey of Influency.mea company specialized in influencer marketing, more than R$110 million has already been raised for Rio Grande do Sul by influencers, and the mobilizations continue.
“Criança Esperança”, a program that raises funds to protect children and adolescents, carried out by Rede Globo since 1987, raised R$ 22.5 million in 2019. A record in revenue, the values of this edition still do not compare to the values which influencers mobilized in support of RS.
“Influencers being able to quickly raise five times more than the biggest program from the biggest television group in Brazil is remarkable and serves to show the real power of digital influence. It’s incredible to think that just one of the influencers, using his cell phone, was able to raise more than an event like Criança Esperança, which, to stay afloat, depends on significant production investments, involving dozens of professionals, cameras, scenography, lighting , artists etc”, commented the CEO of Influency.me, Rodrigo Azevedo.
