Valentine’s Day, celebrated on June 12th, is approaching and there is a lot of talk about how couples can enjoy the most romantic date of the year with special outings and dinners. Despite the atmosphere of love and happiness among those in love, there are those who would like to enjoy the date in some way, but end up being left out: singles. The feeling of scrolling through your social media feed and coming across so many happy couples can sadden those who don’t have a partner to call their own.
With this in mind, dating apps Tinder and the Ge2Gether, a new app that features Virtual Lounges of establishments to boost the movement of registered bars and restaurants, have planned solutions so that singles don’t need to spend Valentine’s Day alone. Let’s get to know these initiatives!
Tinder
Close to Valentine’s Day, the most famous dating app in the world decided to play cupid and promoted, on May 25th, Match Day, a special date to help platform users who don’t want to spend June 12th alone .
“We know that many people want to find that match, so we created this date to give a little push to those who are still looking for a partner for Valentine’s Day. Our app helps to make the journey of new connections light and fun, so nothing more natural than extending this atmosphere to the moment of dating, after all, ‘Everything starts with a Match’”, commented the Director of Marketing for America Latina from Tinder, José Diogo Costódio Rodrigues.
To promote good meetings between matches, Tinder, through a strategy developed by the Dreamers Group’s content laboratory, A-Lab, joined forces with brands such as Burger King, CinepolisWindow Bar, Jo&Joe, The Body Shop, RapWine e 99 to offer exclusive benefits.
“We really believe in the power of connections and, therefore, we are happy to participate in the creation and production of this project. Helping the platform connect with creators and several other businesses in order to expand the possibilities of connection between people was enriching”, commented Ronaldo Fonseca, CEO of A-Lab.

Ge2Gether
The new relationship application hits the market with the proposal to increase the movement of establishments through the “Virtual Lounges” tool, which provides photos, promotions and more information about the places registered in the app.
In addition to attracting more consumers to bars and restaurants, the application seeks to personally connect people who meet online, encouraging users to frequent places according to their preferences. Ge2Gether is also concerned with the safety of couples, only providing bars and restaurants that have safe measures, such as cameras and protocols, to guarantee a quality environment for meetings.
“We are in the process of registering bars and restaurants to officially launch it to users with the highest volume possible. In our Virtual Lounges, we have establishments for all tastes, and attendance has been very positive”, explained Ge2Gether CEO, Igor Leão.
The high adherence of establishments to the application is also a reflection of the impacts of the pandemic on the sector. According to data from the Brazilian Association of Bars and Restaurants (Abrasel) released in April this year, 31% of companies operated in the red in February, recording the lowest rate since March 2023.
The app, which promises to boost bars and restaurants in São Paulo in the coming months, offers two plans for establishments to register. The first is free and entitles you to a personalized virtual space. Premium, which will cost a symbolic monthly amount, provides, in addition to the virtual space, tools to boost business among the public. With Premium, it will also be possible to create promotional codes and chats to interact with users, in addition to accessing data such as customer profiles and a panel that shows connections and movements in the establishment’s Virtual Lounge.
“The partnership promises to generate good results for both the establishment and users, who will have the guarantee of a safe place for their first meeting, in addition to different benefits that app users will have”, said the CEO.
The novelty is becoming a hit among bars and restaurants in the capital of São Paulo. According to businesswoman Thayana Valadares, owner of The Road Pub, located in the south of the city, she hopes to welcome more people to discover and enjoy her pub.
“We are looking forward to putting into practice the strategies designed for our Lounge”, commented the enthusiastic owner.
The application, which plans to extend its operations to other cities in Brazil besides São Paulo, such as Rio de Janeiro, is now available on the Apple Store and Play Store and can be installed for free.
