Pix, verified icon and AI: what’s new in A Meta announced this Thursday (6), a new package of tools for companies that use the WhatsApp to close deals, such as the inclusion of Pix as a payment method, verification icon and a new phase of using artificial intelligence in the app.
The announcement was made at the third edition of ‘Conversations’, Meta’s global event for the instant messaging business, where major product launches are announced. Considered a strategic market for WhatsApp alongside India and Indonesia, Brazil received Conversations for the first time.
Held in São Paulo (SP), the hybrid event received 1,200 people in person, with live transmission to 800,000 people.
According to Meta, Pix is now a payment option within WhatsApp Business. Meta had already launched, last year, the payment function in the application using credit and debit cards.
Regarding the expansion of AI, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, announced the expansion of the tool to Brazil. The company’s AI assistant should be available in Portuguese from July. One of the potentials is the training of chat robots that can chat and offer support to customers in a more assertive way.
Another possibility is optimized delivery tools. They allow companies to target certain messages to customers who are most likely to be interested in that subject, rather than the same content for everyone.
One of the biggest challenges for small businesses on WhatsApp is proving to customers that it is a serious business that they can trust. With this in mind, Meta brings the verified seal to WhatsApp Business with ‘Meta Verified’, a subscription package now available for Instagram and Facebook, which in these cases includes the verification seal, proactive account protection and access to support of accounts, to help content creators grow their presence and build a community faster. The implementation on WhatsApp occurs gradually not only in Brazil, but also in Colombia, India and Indonesia.
Furthermore, despite AI innovations, there are customers who prefer direct contact with a store associate via voice call. Until then, this was not possible on WhatsApp, where conversations between customers and large companies took place via text and automated commands. The company announced that it is in the testing phase to implement the possibility of connection on the platform.
Last month, Meta announced a series of news for your ad platform, especially aimed at Instagram and Facebook. The purpose of the updates is to help advertisers every step of the way and improve ad performance.
