Riot Games game will be available for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5
Riot Games announced that Valorant, its popular free-to-play 5×5 tactical shooter featuring original characters, will be available on Xbox Series X and S and PlayStation 5 consoles.
The launch will begin with a limited beta version in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Europe and Japan on June 14, 2024.
The news of the game’s expansion to consoles and upcoming limited beta was announced on stage at Summer Game Fest 2024 by Andy Ho, executive producer of Valorant, and Arnar Gylfason, director of production.
Valorant for Xbox and PS5 has specific game mechanics, meaning it is not possible for PC and console players to play together in the same matches. However, everyone who plays Valorant on PC, Xbox Series X|S and PS5 will have progression and inventory connected and shared across their game accounts. Both PC and console players will receive simultaneous releases of balance updates, new agents, maps, premium content, and additional features.
“When we explored the possibility of bringing VALORANT to other platforms, we knew we had to deliver the same competitive experience we’ve been providing PC players for years: a precise, team-based tactical shooter,” said Arnar Gylfason, director of production for VALORANT. Valorant at Riot Games.
