More and more people are moving towards changing something in today’s society, and the world of makeup has been no different. Campaigns have appeared on the market and received a lot of visibility, such as the creation of different colors for foundations, in order to allow more people to use the products in their ideal tone.
However, even though the beauty scene has undergone recent changes, people with disabilities are still affected by the lack of accessibility in this universe. Marina Melo, PCD influencer, who shares daily on her Instagram about accessibility in makeup, created a campaign that consists of giving a voice to people with disabilities so that they can be seen by makeup brands, with the aim of including them in the target audience of your products.
“My main mission is to show people with disabilities that they can and should be everywhere, especially in the beauty sector”, explains Mari when asked about the reason for the campaign.
Furthermore, she reveals that many people use makeup as a form of self-acceptance and self-care, and comments that, when she started talking about accessibility in the world of makeup, she did not seek to be the only one to have access to affordable products.
“I want it to be a joint movement and for everyone to fight, because only then will brands understand that it is a necessity”, says the influencer.
In conclusion, the designer student highlights that it is important that people with disabilities are involved in the development of brands and the production of products. To follow Marina on social media, simply access the official link TikTok. Check out the campaign video.
