This Wednesday (19), the ABIHPEC Institute, in partnership with the beauty brand Sephora, brings a special initiative to Rio de Janeiro that marks a step forward in promoting self-esteem and inclusion. In this special edition, the program ‘De Bem Com Você – A Beleza Contra o Câncer’ will include trans women in their self-makeup workshops, a step towards expanding support and well-being beyond cancer treatment, which is the focus of the initiative.
The entity argues that self-esteem is essential for the well-being and recovery of cancer patients, in addition to being a powerful instrument of inclusion. Promoting self-esteem, in this context, contributes to strengthening self-confidence. The idea of the program this LGBTQIAP+ pride month is also to help combat prejudice and encourage, through makeup, a movement of acceptance and empowerment.
For this expanded edition of the self-makeup workshop in Rio de Janeiro, the program will feature a team of volunteer makeup artists specially trained to serve cancer patients and trans women. Participants will be entitled to free transportation and an exclusive makeup kit for their own use.
Coordinated by the ABIHPEC Institute for more than 10 years, the ‘De Bem Com Você’ program benefited, in 2023, 6.5 thousand patients. With the expansion of support, the program’s goal is to serve 8 thousand people in 2024.
