Panel addresses technological innovations and strategies to combat gender inequality.
This Wednesday (19), Fabiana Schaeffer, CEO of Netza Martech Agency and co-founder of Netza&CO, participated in the “Creativity and Equality Moonshot” panel, during the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, in the French city. Held by the World Woman Foundation, at Canopy by Hilton Cannes, the event discussed the participation of women in the creative process and how they contribute to the development of the advertising market as a whole.
Brand experience specialist and active member of the Global Compact HIM, Fabiana brought her more than 20 years of experience in communications to the debate. For the executive, Brazilian cultural diversity is a strong point that enhances women’s contribution to resolving global issues.
“With indigenous, African, European and Asian influences, Brazil is a multicultural country that allows Brazilian women to bring unique and innovative perspectives. An example is the NGO EcoArts, led by women, which transforms waste from the Amazon into pieces of art exhibited worldwide, raising awareness and bringing reflections on the preservation of the forest”, said Fabiana.
Alongside other major female references in the advertising market, the executive suggested strategies to integrate cultural diversity and women’s perspectives into global solutions, highlighting inclusion in decision-making, training and empowerment, inclusive policies, collaborative environments, monitoring and evaluation , strategic partnerships, and communication and awareness campaigns.
Regarding innovative solutions to combat gender inequality, Fabiana highlighted the importance of platforms for e-learning and mentoring in technology and education, AI and Big Data in identifying discrimination, art projects and cultural festivals in promoting diversity, public policies such as participatory gender budgeting and community leadership programs, as well as investment funds and microfinance for female entrepreneurs. Awareness is driven by social media campaigns and documentaries, while mental health is supported by specialist technology.
Despite this, the executive made it clear that, to create sustainable and impactful changes for women and girls, it is essential to direct investments to projects that promote gender equality and form partnerships between governments, NGOs, companies and local communities. Additionally, providing resources and support for women entrepreneurs in creative industries and offering training programs in business management and creative skills are key strategies to boost their businesses and promote innovation.
The panel also covered topics such as “Technological Innovations for Empowering Women, presenting technology platforms focused on women and gender equity, “Impact of the Visibility of Successful Women Leaders”, among others.
Fabiana also highlighted future trends that will drive significant changes, such as the circular and sustainable economy, which will create new opportunities for female leaders in ecological industries; and the growth of female entrepreneurship in Brazil, especially in sustainable businesses, promoting gender equality and women’s economic empowerment.
Concluding the panel, the CEO left some advice for emerging women leaders who want to promote innovation and creativity.
“You need to believe in your abilities, seek mentoring and build a solid professional network, include diverse perspectives in the team, stay updated and invest in continuous development. Facing challenges as opportunities, valuing collaboration and shared ideas, communicating the vision in a clear and inspiring way, and having empathy are also important practices.”, he concluded.
The “Creativity and Equality Moonshot” panel was held at the world’s largest event focused on creativity and communication, by the World Woman Foundation, an American organization that aims to empower 1 million women and girls by 2030 with the global #EqualityMoonshot initiative.
