For the first time, AliExpress will sell items on another platform and Magalu will be a partner seller on another marketplace
Magalu and AliExpress announced that AliExpress will start selling items from its “choice” line on Magalu’s digital channels, a premium shopping service that offers a curation of products with the best cost-benefit and delivery speed, and Magalu will offer products from its own stock (1P) on the Brazilian AliExpress platform.
“We have increasingly focused on expanding our local operation, reinforcing AliExpress’s commitment to contributing to the development of Brazilian e-commerce”, says Kai Li, CEO Latam at AliExpress.
Imported products sold by AliExpress follow the rules of Conformal Remittance, a program established in 2023 by the Federal Government. On the website and app, AliExpress products will be highlighted in a specific “world”, as is the case with certain brands and categories. In addition, they can be offered by sellers at more than 1,250 Magalu physical stores spread throughout Brazil.
Magalu will offer products from its own stock (1P) on the Brazilian AliExpress platform, also complementing the assortment they offer. Initially, items from the durable goods categories will be sold, with logistical and multichannel coverage.
“The inclusion of thousands of AliExpress products on our platform accelerates our strategy of diversifying categories and increasing purchase frequency, in addition to boosting our cross border operation. Offering our 1P on AliExpress will strengthen sales and consolidate absolute leadership in the company’s traditional categories. There is total complementarity in the assortment, without overlapping”, explains Frederico Trajano, CEO of Magalu.
It is the first time that AliExpress will sell items on a third-party platform in the world, and that Magalu will take on the role of partner seller on another marketplace.
