iStock survey provides insights into the impact of AI visual content on small business marketing
iStock’s VisualGPS research shows that for 82% of people, content on social media is not completely trustworthy.
The study captured the sentiments of more than 30,000 adults across 25 countries to understand the impact of generative AI visuals on small business marketing. One key finding is that people expect transparency, with nearly 90% of people saying they want to know if an image was created using AI.
“Companies across all industries are grappling with how to integrate generative AI into their creative workflow, and it’s crucial that they understand the risks and rewards of this technology,” says Dr. Rebecca Swift, Global Director of Creative Content at iStock.
The research also reveals that 98% of consumers agree that authentic images and videos are key to establishing trust, indicating that when building trust is the focus, user-generated content or stock content may perform better in engaging audiences.
