New feature uses AI to detect and remove protected songs without affecting the original audio.
Attention, content creators! Are you tired of losing audio from your videos on YouTube because of copyright? Here’s the solution! YouTube is preparing to launch the “Delete Music” tool, which allows you to remove only copyrighted music from videos, while keeping other audio such as conversations and ambient sounds.
The option will be an alternative to the platform’s two previous solutions to this problem, which forced the content creator to cut the music section or replace it with another from YouTube’s library. Now, the user can retrieve the entire video and monetize it, if it meets the requirements.
The new feature uses artificial intelligence to accurately detect and remove protected music, even if it is mixed with other sounds. It is worth noting that if the music is very complex or has poor audio quality, it may not be completely removed. To use the option, which will be available in the coming weeks, simply access YouTube Studio and look in the video settings.
If the issue is with other copyrights, such as images or excerpts from other videos, the “Delete Music” tool will not solve the issue. In these cases, the user will still have to cut the excerpt or resort to other solutions.
Additionally, YouTube is also testing other features to help creators deal with copyright, such as music identification, which warns if a video contains copyrighted music before a creator publishes it, and music licensing, which makes it easier for users to purchase licenses for music they want to use in their videos.
With these new features, YouTube hopes to help creators share their videos more freely, without fear of copyright infringement. These YouTube Studio tools are being rolled out gradually to all users, and to find out if they’re available to you, just visit Studio.
