Telecommunications brand promotes selection process meeting internal compliance
The operator TIM, of mobile telephony and internet services, is holding a pitch to identify, or not, a new supplier for its marketing communication area, led by executive Ana Castelo Branco.
BETC Havas, currently responsible for this service to TIM, is among the participants. But other agencies, without conflict, were invited but not identified by the advertiser.
In the last bid, BETC Havas shared the account with the Squadra consortium formed by Wunderman Thompson and Ogilvy. But the customer focused the account only on Havas. The WPP declined to participate in the current competition, according to sources with access to the information.
TIM sent the statement below:
“TIM clarifies that it periodically conducts a competition between advertising agencies, always acting in a transparent manner and following all the strict compliance rules. The main agencies in the country are invited, according to the billing ranking, excluding only those that already work with other companies in the telecom sector. The current process is ongoing, without any complications, and will be finalized soon.”
