The advertising market is receiving a new and impactful film that promises to generate reflection and discussion. Entitled ‘Statistics’, the film by the NGO NÓIZ, born in Cidade de Deus, in Rio de Janeiro, promises not only to move, but also to provoke a deep reflection on social inequalities and the need to create more opportunities for everyone. With real stories and an authentic cast, the film highlights the importance of empowerment and inclusion.
One of the highlights of the film is the story of 15-year-old Ruan, who shares his journey of overcoming obstacles.
“I left behind traffic lights, where I had to sell candy to supplement the family income, and today I receive financial assistance from the NGO to train and study. This is my commitment,” says Ruan, who recently became an athlete on the Rio de Janeiro boxing team.
Another inspiring story is that of Ana Carla, 48 years old, now a pedagogy student at UERJ, thanks to the social preparatory course offered by the NGO on Saturdays.
“I am very happy to participate in this project, today I work at the NGO as a volunteer because I understand that I need to give thanks in some way”, highlights Ana.
The president of the NGO NÓIZ, André Melo, also commented on the reality of the communities.
“Unfortunately, today society treats communities as separate, and as long as this happens, we will never be equal. The film brings a bit of this to the forefront, talking about inequality and opportunity, and at the same time it has a strong argument for empowerment. What reinforces this is that the stories are real and the entire cast is made up of members of the NGO,” explains Melo.
The film is written by Roberto Vilhena, former VP of Creation at Artplan and currently working at Grey in New York. To bring the idea to life, Pedro Gomes, from Rockers, took on the art direction. The production is by Gomo Filmes and the audio is by Beat Carioca.
“When I read the script, I immediately agreed. I invited my partners and it was no different. The project is beautiful, it was really a chance to tell a lot of people that unfortunately opportunities are very limited, and that this needs to change,” says Caio Gomes, director of the film alongside Pedro Gomes.
All professionals involved gave up their fees to make the project possible. Watch the film.
