‘Indigenous Feather Art in Brazil’ to be launched on the 30th
CEO of Fbiz, Fernand Alphen will launch, next week, the book ‘Indigenous Feather Art in Brazil’, by Editora Afluente, at Casinha Charlô (Rua Barão de Capanema, 450 – Jardim América – São Paulo).
The book is a dive into the ancestral universe, where the art and indigenous culture of Brazil are revealed in all their exuberance and uniqueness. The book features a collection of traditional adornments, such as headdresses and cloaks, made with bird feathers.
These objects, now considered rare and precious, are more than just ornaments; they are symbols of identity, status and spiritual connection for the indigenous peoples of Brazil. Each feather, carefully selected and crafted, carries with it an ancestral story, transmitting knowledge, traditions and beliefs that span generations.
The book features over 30 ethnic groups, each with their own technique and style in featherwork. From the Ashaninka, with their intricate geometric compositions, to the Yanomami, with their vibrant colors and organic shapes, we are taken on a visual journey that encompasses the cultural and aesthetic diversity of indigenous peoples in Brazil.
