Basketball legend and businessman to address leadership and business culture at festival.
The 14th edition of Expert XPthe world’s largest investment festival, announces its first speaker: basketball legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson. Considered one of the greatest players in the history of NBAthe former Lakers player has built a successful career as a businessman and investor. Expert XP 2024 will be held on August 30 and 31 in São Paulo, at São Paulo Expo, in the edition with the largest expected audience in history, with more than 50 thousand people.
This will be the first time that “Magic” Johnson will be coming to Brazil for Expert XP. At the festival, he will address aspects of his career in basketball and business, including topics such as the centrality of leadership and the importance of developing a solid corporate culture. The businessman is currently CEO of Magic Johnson Enterprises and co-owner of several businesses, including the Washington Commanders football team, the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team, and the Los Angeles Sparks basketball team.
The basketball legend’s arrival in Brazil comes in the same year that XP announced its sponsorship of the NBA. XP is the first Brazilian financial brand to sponsor the world’s biggest basketball league.
Participants in the 2024 edition of Expert XP will have access to more than 250 speakers, divided into 4 simultaneous stages and a main plenary, over 105 hours of content. The festival’s program will occupy five pavilions, totaling approximately 54,000 m², and will have more than 200 supporters, both national and international, from various sectors, especially financial.

Earvin “Magic” Johnson is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Magic Johnson Enterprises, a high-quality investment conglomerate focused on vulnerable and ethnically diverse urban communities. Transitioning from the basketball court to the boardroom, Johnson has transformed his skills and tenacity learned on the court into a formula for business success. He currently holds majority stakes in EquiTrust, a multi-billion dollar financial services company, and SodexoMAGIC, a food company.
Still a strong presence in the world of sports, in 2023 he made history by becoming a co-owner of the Washington Commanders, of the National Football League (NFL) which was purchased for US$ 6.05 billion.
