Judoka won Brazil’s first gold medal in the competition and was celebrated by brands such as Vivo, iFood, Duolingo and Havaianas
Brazil’s Olympic gold medal has arrived. After hearing a packed arena echoing her opponent’s name, judoka Beatriz Souza won the fight against Israeli Raz Hershko and climbed to the top of the podium this Friday (2).
The victory placed Brazil in 18th place in the overall medal rankings of the competition, with one gold, three silver and three bronze. Beatriz now joins Sarah Menezes and Rafaela Silva as the third Brazilian judoka to win a gold medal at the Olympic Games.
