According to a survey by Hibou, conducted between July 25 and 27, 2024 with 1,241 respondents, clothing is the preferred gift for Father’s Day, with 67% of Brazilians opting for this item. Other popular segments include footwear (39%) and perfumes (25%).
The survey also revealed budgets for gifts: 67% of respondents plan to spend up to 250 reais, 23% between 250 and 500 reais, and only 7% between 501 and 1,000 reais.
In the 44th Region of Goiânia, Mega Moda retailers have been feeling the increase in sales for over 15 days. “We are seeing a significant increase in the number of caravans visiting Mega Moda, a trend that is intensifying as Father’s Day approaches. These groups come in search of the diversity and quality of the products that our retailers offer,” says Paula Sepulveda, Mega Moda’s marketing manager.
Retailers have new collections ready to serve both the local public and caravans from other states and the interior of Goiás. “This anticipation allows brands to position themselves strategically in the market, taking advantage of the influx of buyers looking to renew their stocks for the festive dates”, reinforces Sepulveda.
Dalila Goulart, owner of the Volar Camisetas brand, highlights the importance of wholesale sales on special dates such as Father’s Day. “We are already working with orders from retailers in several cities in the interior of Goiás and other regions of Brazil. They prepare in advance to have adequate stock for the date, ensuring sufficient variety and quantity to meet consumer demand,” she explains. “This is one of the best times for the men’s clothing trade.”
Jocasta Rodrigues, manager of Império das Camisas, located in Mega Moda Shopping, predicts a significant increase in sales during Father’s Day, with an expected 40% growth compared to regular periods. “We are expanding our inventory with new designs and carefully selected fabrics to please the most varied tastes of consumers,” explains Rodrigues. “We conducted a survey with our audience to better understand which styles are most sought after and which new trends are emerging. Based on this, we adjust our offering to ensure that we have the most desired pieces available in large quantities.”
