The Brazilian market is gaining a new creative production company, Balma Films. Created by Thiago Balma, who heads the areas of executive direction, business development and talent management, the company has Luiz Whately as associate director. Also partners in Balma Films are Juliana Martellotta, Dulcidio Caldeira and Thales Aburaya, who already have partnerships in the production companies Boiler Filmes, Boiler Entretenimento, LadyBird and Crème Company.
Thiago Balma has 16 years of experience in the market, always applying his expertise in content creation to the production of films and other media. He has won awards at Cannes Lions, Clio Awards, Professionals of the Year and El Ojo de Iberoamérica.
According to the statement, Balma Films acts as a network of creative talents that unites independent visual producers in a collaborative space. “We are facing constant evolution within clients and agencies, and Balma Films is prepared to serve everyone, integrating voices and skills,” says Juliana Martellotta, partner of the company. Thiago states that Balma is the common thread that connects audiovisual diversity to new production possibilities. “Associating ourselves with this strong team, such as Juliana Martelotta, Dulcidio Caldeira and Thales Aburaya, makes us very powerful. We want to show the market the strength, impact and importance that executive production has. I am very happy to join, especially, with Juliana, who is an executive I greatly admire, as I have followed her work and development for a long time. The fact that we are from the same generation means that we have a unique affinity,” he concludes.
“We position Balma Films not only as an audiovisual production house, but also as a creative production company, as we work alongside agencies and advertisers in the effective and creative development of the work we do,” says Thiago Balma. Balma Smart Solutions offers creative solutions in film and content production for agencies and brands, committed to developing campaigns, aligning expectations and costs to assemble a team that will face challenges with agility and attention to the needs of clients. Balma Films was born with Artificial Intelligence in its DNA, a technology that will not replace human talent and vision, but can be a tool that improves the final product delivered to its clients. “We understand that AI is now part of cinema. And there is no going back. The question is how and when to use it, creatively and safely. Our partner, Luiz Whately, who is both a scene director and a creative director, has been exploring and following the evolution of AI,” explains Thiago.
