Portal features new graphical interface and modernization of social networks
Onconews completed 10 years of activities as one of the most respected vehicles in Brazilian oncology, with graphic and social media updates.
“In a scenario where projections show an increase in the incidence of cancer, Onconews plays an essential role in disseminating the most up-to-date scientific evidence on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer. And when we think about prevention, the main risk factor to be combated in the fight against the disease is misinformation”, says Adeylson Guimarães Ribeiro, deputy director of information and epidemiology at the Oncocentro Foundation in São Paulo.
With daily multimedia production, the portal has a highly segmented audience, made up of oncologists, oncological surgeons and radiotherapy specialists, as well as doctors from other specialties and other health professionals involved in the cancer care chain, reaching more than 1.8 million page views in July.
“We always believed that it was possible to work in medical journalism in the area of cancer, even though Brazil does not have this tradition of scientific editors. And we had help from a lot of people,” says Valéria Hartt, editor-in-chief.
To mark its 10th anniversary, Onconews has launched a new graphical interface to facilitate the browsing experience. With an ultra-fast and modern layout, the responsive design allows content to be adapted to different devices – smartphones, desktops, tablets and SmartTVs – with an intuitive interface that provides the best reading experience on any screen.
Thematic navigation has been improved, including topics such as radiation oncology and oncogenetics, for example, and the search tool allows searches by keywords, dates or specific periods, always with complete bibliographic references. Social networks have also undergone modernization, now with a more attractive layout and updated information.
