Rowers Evaldo Becker and Piedro Tuchtenhagen, from the Brazilian rowing team, exchanged the last qualifier for the Paris Games for a bigger mission: helping communities affected by the floods in Rio Grande do Sul, in April. The duo, who trained at the Gaucho Rowing Federation (Remo Sul), on Ilha do Pavão, postponed their Olympic dream to dedicate themselves to rescue and support the residents of the region.
With this attitude, Evaldo and Piedro inspired the “Beyond the Hoops” campaign, launched by sportv in partnership with SquarePixel. The initiative seeks to raise donations to revitalize Remo Sul, which was heavily affected by the floods. Contributions can be made directly on the “For Those Who Donate” platform, combining passion for sport with solidarity.
