In addition to Caixa, the tournament is sponsored by Netshoes and Penalty
The National Basketball League announced the NBB Trio, which will be a cultural movement with a national street basketball tournament featuring 16 NBB Caixa clubs and is sponsored by Caixa, Netshoes, which will be providing activations with giveaways and other attractions, and Penalty, which will be the official ball. The NBB Trio also has the support of the Brazilian Club Committee (CBC) and Novo Anhangabaú.
The tournament will be held in three Brazilian cities: São Paulo (August 24 and 25), Campina Grande (September 7 and 8), Brasília (September 21 and 22) and again in São Paulo (October 5), with over R$200,000 in prizes to be awarded. The tournament will be broadcast live on the NBB YouTube channel and other local partners.
“It is a great pleasure to take another step towards the massification of basketball. Street basketball players deserve a large and structured movement that celebrates this culture. The NBB has arrived on the streets, and it is here to stay,” says Rodrigo Montoro, president of the National Basketball League.
The NBB Trio will release a song composed by the collective Incentivarte, from Capão Redondo, in the south of São Paulo. Sung by Patrícia dos Santos Pereira, Daniel Jhones and Samuel Luiz, the track “NBB Trio, o saco da rua” (NBB Trio, street basketball) will be released in the week before the initial stage, on the NBB’s social networks and audio platforms.
The communication strategy also includes actions with influencer Sidney Gabriel, Dois Por Cento (DPC), who will participate in the institutional video and the music video for the movement’s original song.
Held in public places in each city, the events will have free entry upon registration with NBB ID or donation of 1kg of food. The NBB Trio will consist of three courts and the spaces will have food trucks, bathrooms and stands of NBB Trio partner brands.
