Judge ruled that the company has 90 days to comply with the provisional decision, under penalty of a fine of R$200,000 per day
The Court of Justice of São Paulo (TJ-SP) prohibited Meta from using WhatsApp data to target ads on its other platforms, such as Instagram and Facebook.
According to information released by Folha de S.Paulo, the entities are accusing the company of having confused people in order to obtain consent for sharing.
The injunction also determines that the bigtech company must create and make available opt-out features, through pre-defined buttons, which allow users to decide whether or not to allow their data to be shared.
In the document, the judge determined that the company has 90 days to comply with the provisional decision, under penalty of a fine of R$200,000 per day.
The decision follows a R$1.7 billion lawsuit against WhatsApp and ANPD, filed by Idec and MPF on July 16.
O propmark asked Meta for clarification, but had not received a response by the time the article was published.
