Banco do Brasil announced the fourth stage of the 2024 Banco do Brasil Surf Circuit, which will promote five stages of the Qualifying Series, worth points for the regional ranking of the World Surf League (WSL) South America, in São Sebastião, on Maresias Beach, with the slogan “Fan and Supporter of Brazilian Surfing”.
One of the main objectives of the Banco do Brasil Surfing Circuit is to discover new talents in Brazilian surfing and offer opportunities for them to participate in WSL events.
In addition to sponsorship, the Banco do Brasil Surf Circuit offers several additional attractions for the public at all stages, with entertainment, surfing lessons and physical activities for all ages, as well as environmental preservation campaigns. In Maresias, the activities will include a competition on beach cleaning and waste separation with public school students, in conjunction with the São Sebastião Department of the Environment (Semam), an activity in partnership with Coopersuss, on the recycling cycle and the impact of marine pollution, as well as educational actions to plant seedlings for public school students in partnership with Semam and Seduc, the São Sebastião Department of Education.
Workshops on Atlantic Forest seed balls will also be held, with participants being able to help recover areas of the northern coast of São Paulo in the RegenerAção project and inclusive surfing for students at Onda Azul São Sebastião, for young people with autism and Down syndrome.
The qualifiers will begin next Thursday (22) and the new top of the 2025 world elite, Ian Gouveia, and the Peruvian Arena Rodriguez Vargas, will defend the titles won in Maresias last year. Lucas Vicente and Laura Raupp will try to stay ahead of the WSL South America, which will qualify seven men and three women for the 2025 Challenger Series. And Matheus Navarro and Laura Raupp will also defend their leadership in the special ranking of the Banco do Brasil Surfing Circuit, which is worth invitations for the champion and the champion to participate in the Corona Saquarema Pro presented by Banco do Brasil, which will close the 2025 Challenger Series.
