Rapper Snoop Dogg turned on his honest mode in the new film for the stove and fireplace brand Solo Stove. The company’s poster boy, Snoop never misses an opportunity to use his reputation as a stoner to praise the brand. And this time it was no different.
Alongside fellow rapper and producer Warren G, Snoop activated “blunt” mode, which is slang for a marijuana cigarette rolled in tobacco leaves, and also means something direct, frank or blunt. When someone is described as “blunt,” it means that they speak very directly, possibly even rudely or insensitively, without softening or attenuating what they are saying.
In the brand’s film, the rapper tells the truth: “I’m only here because you’re more likely to buy the product, because I’m Snoop.”
The film is part of the new campaign, “Blunt Marketing”. According to the brand, this is its biggest marketing campaign to date.
This isn’t the first time Snoop has made a pun about the cannabis world to promote his brand. A few months ago, he said he was “going smokeless,” just like Stove’s smokeless oven:
