Serasa Experian is offering 515 free scholarships to low-income young people aged 18 to 29 who live in the outskirts of São Paulo and want to enter the technology market. The Transforme-se program, developed by the company, has already traveled to several states and is holding its second edition in the capital, this time covering the south, east and west zones. The vacancies are for those who are currently studying or have completed high school in a public or private school as a scholarship holder. In addition, the initiative will grant a scholarship of R$25 per participant per class attended, with the aim of supporting travel and food.
Registration is open until September 8th and can be completed on this website.
The initiative, which was held in São Paulo for the first time, benefited more than 200 students from the region, and now the program has some new features. In addition to studying computer science and data programming, students will now have access to 20 hours of training in Personal Finance. “In this new season of the Transforme-se program, we are going beyond supporting inclusion in the job market. We want to encourage a prosperous future and the financial health of students, which is why we are including this new course. We know that it is essential for young people to know how to make conscious use of their resources in order to achieve their dreams,” says Paulo Gustavo Gomes, head of sustainability & ESG at Serasa Experian.
Transforme-se is a program developed by Serasa Experian, which has Senac as an educational partner, in addition to the NGO Gerando Falcões, a social development ecosystem that works to overcome poverty in favelas and outskirts of cities. In this project, they are responsible for the social support of young people in situations of social vulnerability. The initiative was created 2 years ago and aims to professionalize people in situations of social vulnerability to work in the technology area.
In a recent survey conducted with former students of the first edition of Transforme-se, it was possible to confirm that after one year of completing the course, 81% of participants had obtained job positions, increased income or moved to the technology area.
Since its launch, Transforme-se has trained more than 1,000 students throughout Brazil and aims to have 2,200 graduates by the first half of 2025. This is the 5th edition of the program, which has previously included low-income youth, women and people with disabilities in an effort to enhance inclusion and diversity in the sector.
