Vini Jr.: Racism in football
A constant target of insults throughout his career, the Real Madrid player was the victim of racism during a match against Valencia in the Spanish Championship in 2023. The episode gained international proportions, not only because of the player’s importance, but also because of Real Madrid’s size, and put Spanish football at the center of a discussion about racism in sport. Roberto Cabrini traveled to the country to closely monitor the repercussions of the case. To understand the roots of racism in Spanish football, the journalist attended a match between Real Madrid and Rayo Vallecano at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, spoke with fans, journalists and the controversial president of the League, Javier Tebas. Cabrini was also welcomed by Brazilian Marcos Sena, a former player for the Spanish national team, who reveals, in this exclusive interview, the tentacles of racism in Spain.
Children of the Acai
A sensitive look at the drama of children and teenagers who dedicate themselves to one of the most dangerous activities in Brazil: harvesting açaí. The production shows that, behind the fruit from the Amazon region, consumed throughout the country, including abroad, there is a difficult and little-known reality, which includes the exploitation of child labor.
Family Slaves
The report tells the story of four women who spent decades tied to invisible chains. All of them were raised as if they were “family”. Luzia, Leda, Madalena and Gildete are rebuilding their lives after freeing themselves from the bonds of slavery.
Most of them were taken from their homes as children and given to families in exchange for food, shelter and the promise of a better life, but they were deceived. For decades, they endured exhausting workdays, without the right to pay, vacations and were prevented from socializing. The program also interviewed the most qualified experts and scholars on contemporary domestic slave labor.
