During Propositividade 2025, ID_BR presented a survey, conducted in partnership with Fundação Dom Cabral, Mover and Pacto Global, which brought 10 market trends and predictions for 2025.
The trends presented were:
- Investment in Career Development Programs for Specific Audiences;
- Creation and Use of Impact Indicators in the Value Chain;
- Integration of Technology and Innovation for Sustainability and Diversity;
- Growth of Actions in Favor of Mental Health;
- Cross-Cutting and Intersectional Approaches;
- Ageism, Gender, Disability and Sexual Orientation, Racial Literacy and Combating Racism in the Workplace;
- Integrate DE&I Themes, ESG Agenda & 2030 Agenda to Acculturate Agendas Instead of Niching;
- USA is not Brazil! Adaptation of the DE&I Discourse;
- Need for Clear Goals and Metrics;
- Dissemination of Best Practices and Employee Census and Inclusion of Indigenous People in Companies.
Among the main topics discussed were generational issues, with an emphasis on increasing longevity and the growing need for age inclusion. In addition, the event highlighted the challenge of meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030, highlighting the urgency of mobilizing the business sector to address critical issues such as human rights and environmental racism, especially in the Brazilian context.
The role of small businesses was also addressed, highlighting that while large corporations often establish models of inclusive practices, everyday actions in smaller organizations can have a significant and positive impact. The production of ethnic-racial censuses, in accordance with Law 14,553, and the implementation of affirmative actions were highlighted as essential to create more inclusive and representative work environments.
Emerging trends include the integration of technology and innovation to promote diversity. The event also highlighted entrepreneurship as a vital tool for reducing inequalities, emphasizing the importance of initiatives that foster the development of diverse businesses, especially small businesses.
Globo journalist Marcos Luca Valentim, winner of the Ubuntu Black Culture Award in 2021 and 2022, presented one of the event’s Oracles and highlighted the importance of black representation within newsrooms. “In a predominantly black country, 85% of the country’s writers are white. This reflects the urgency in which changes in the country’s structural issues need to happen in order to achieve equity and social inclusion so that new narratives can be built,” said the journalist.
Finally, Propositividade 2025 highlighted the need for a more inclusive organizational culture, with an emphasis on racial literacy and the development of impact indicators that demonstrate the benefits of diversity. Fundação Dom Cabral highlighted the urgency of discussing pay equity and connecting representation to innovation. While ID_BR reinforced the importance of Deb, the world’s first anti-racist artificial intelligence, demonstrating the need to transform these issues into concrete and effective practices within companies.
“Holding Propositividade annually highlights ID_BR’s commitment to mitigating actions and trends that must be developed and acquired by companies and organizations that seek racial equity,” comments Luana Génot, CEO and executive director of Instituto Identidades do Brasil.
