“Iron Society – The Structure of Things” is a co-production with Globo Filmes and GloboNews
The documentary “Iron Society – The Structure of Things”, a co-production between Pródigo Filmes, Globo Filmes and GloboNews, addresses the causes and consequences of the tragedies of Mariana and Brumadinho, in Minas Gerais, with the rupture of the dams. Directed by Eduardo Rajabally, the film will be released in theaters in São Paulo and Belo Horizonte next Thursday (5).
Driven by the poem “Máquina do Mundo”, by Carlos Drummond de Andrade, and with testimonies from thinkers such as Célia Xakriabá and José Miguel Wisnik, the documentary highlights the impact of mining in Minas Gerais and criticizes the culture of unbridled consumption.
“This is an essay film about the iron ore industry and its unusual connection with the extraordinary poetry of Carlos Drummond de Andrade. Based on the disasters in Mariana and Brumadinho, the documentary discusses the world’s dependence on an increasingly unsustainable lifestyle,” says director Eduardo Rajabally.
