The initiative is available for free broadcasting on broadcasters and social media until the second round of the municipal elections
The radio and TV associations, ABERT and Abratel, joined forces to launch the campaign “Journalism against disinformation”.
The piece was created with the aim of reminding people about the importance of broadcasting in combating the spread of fake news.
“Now is the time to join forces to combat hate speech, lies and fake news, especially when more than five thousand six hundred Brazilian municipalities will elect their leaders. We count on the support and participation of our broadcasters in this action to benefit the entire Brazilian population,” said Flávio Lara Resende, president of Abert.
The initiative has the support of associated TV and radio networks and is available for free broadcasting on broadcasters and social networks until the second round of the elections, which will take place on October 27.
